Job Overview:

We are looking for Planner to join our team in Brno. The successful candidate will report to the Lead Planning & Scheduling Specialist or Project Controls Manager, as per the project organization for both internal and external reporting. Reports to the Project Manager or Project Controls Manager, as per the project organization for both internal and external reporting. On FEED or small EPC projects, is responsible for or involved in setting up and maintaining communication within the Project Management team, with the purpose of providing the team the necessary information to manage the project with respect to progress, performance and schedule. On FEED or small EPC projects, is responsible for setting up and maintaining communication with the disciplines on the Project team (Engineering Disciplines, Procurement, Subcontracting, Construction, and Fabrication as applicable), with the purpose of collecting as well as supplying information to manage the individual disciplines with respect to progress, performance and schedule.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine aspects of planning & scheduling independently;

  • Applies sound knowledge of Project Controls principles;

  • Can handle small FEED and small EPC projects independently;

  • Under supervision, performs more complex and larger portions of planning & scheduling assignments;

  • Actively involved in creating a safe working environment;

  • Reports to the Lead Planning & Scheduling Specialist or Project Controls Manager, as per the project organization for both internal and external reporting;

  • Reports to the Project Manager or Project Controls Manager, as per the project organization for both internal and external reporting;

  • On FEED or small EPC projects, is responsible for or involved in setting up and maintaining communication within the Project Management team, with the purpose of providing the team the necessary information to manage the project with respect to progress, performance and schedule;

  • Actively involved in creating a safe work environment;

  • Is responsible for working out the contract details into fit for purpose Planning & Scheduling deliverables. Important contract requirements and consequences to be highly visible;

  • Is responsible for assisting the project disciplines to plan, align and schedule their respective scopes. The goal is to reach a transparent project planning, progress and performance system to provide the best information to project management for decision-making. Advise the Project team on corrective action;

  • Is responsible for the work distribution, personal and technical challenges for people and a proper working atmosphere in the team;

  • Is responsible for applying the Company Quality System on the project as well as the quality of the output of the individual scheduling specialists. Adequately select and use the company tools;

  • Assist the department to maintain and develop procedures, tools and best practices;

  • Be familiar with procurement, materials control, estimating and cost control techniques. Master planning & scheduling tools, techniques and company standards;

  • Be able to write an effective Planning & Scheduling plan as part of the Project Controls Execution Plan and establish a WBS.Be able to establish a planning, progress and performance system on any type of project (BE, E, P, EP, EPC, EPFC, PMC, Multi-office);

  • Setup and/or direct the setup of effective physical progress measurement based on earned value principles;

  • Prepare an effective critical path schedule, analysis and make recommendations;

  • Regularly analyze project planning, performance and progress data, raise issues and advise corrective action;

  • Analyze and forecast discipline performance and manpower requirements and physical progress;

  • Prepare and/or direct the preparation internal and client progress reports and performance reports;

  • Define the requirements for, and follow up, Construction and Subcontractor schedules for the purpose of the overall schedule feasibility;

  • Be able to represent Project Controls department in proposal work and discussions with clients.

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • Advanced Technical Education (B.Sc./M.Sc. or equivalent) or matching work experience;

  • Must have 2 - 7 years of experience;

  • Be able to deal with resistance. Provide constructive feedback to team leaders and Project Management;

  • Ability to interact on higher level with Project Management as well as technically with engineers.

  • Good verbal and writing communication skills in English;

  • Meet deadlines by quickly adapting to changing needs and requirements;

  • Capable of handling stressful situations;

  • Demonstrate an understanding of planning & scheduling procedures and best practices;

  • Actively acquire FEED and EPC knowledge;

  • Enhance computer literacy.
