Pay rate $18.75 + DOE

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for cutting raw material and/or trimming printed stock to customer specifications on a powered guillotine cutter. Performs cutting operation to close tolerances, sets backstop, clamp pressure, keeps cutter square, and changes cutter blades by performing the following duties personally .

Prefer experience with a Heidelberg or similar paper cutter.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checks material to be trimmed against production order for accuracy.

  • Determines whether trimming is necessary prior to final cutting.

  • Determines lift size (number of sheets) per cut to maintain tolerance ranges within precise limitations.

  • Performs cutting operations to close tolerances, sets back stop, clamp pressure, keeps cutter square, changes blade, and checks with supervisor for approval before cutting job.

  • Blocks, stacks, feeds, cuts, retrieves, and re-stacks sheets.

  • Maintains production records as required .

  • Records cutting waste. Measures or weighs as necessary, and dispose of material as indicated .

  • Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on cutter, trimmer, and other equipment.

  • Inspect machine guards for safety compliance.

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment .

Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.
