Camping World IT System Administrator - Hardware Specialist in Bowling Green, Kentucky
Position Location: Bowling Green, KY (650 Three Springs Rd)
The primary role of this position is to support retail system hardware and software. Daily tasks include: maintaining, troubleshooting and fixing reported issues from our retail locations and replacement of hardware as needed. In support of our retail expansion, this position will also configure, image, package and ship retail system hardware including Point-of-sale (POS) equipment, Zebra handhelds and printers and other retail devices.
What You'll Do:
Install, troubleshoot and monitor POS system hardware and application software.
Maintain accurate records of equipment, POS system issues, hardware issues and service requests.
Troubleshoot register connectivity and application failures.
Install, configure and maintain Xstore POS register hardware and software including software upgrades and patching.
Follow documented change management processes for system changes.
Update standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed
Conduct audits on existing systems by running reports and providing analyses of outputs
Work with end users at all business levels on training requirements for the use of existing and new applications, including writing and delivering training material as needed
Ability to work at a high level of independence, utilizing resources with good judgment.
Demonstrate initiative and ownership of hardware processes.
Rotational on-call duties, supporting 24/7 processes critical to retail operations.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
What You'll Need to Have for the Role:
Required Qualifications
Proven experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
Hardware knowledge and experience in installing and replacing computers and peripherals.
Experience supporting mobile apps on Zebra (Android), Windows, and Apple devices and software.
Knowledge of Oracle Linux.
Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to apply knowledge from previous projects and platforms to new environments and software packages.
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing and shifting priorities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Sound reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving aptitude.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
Have strong time management skills.
Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language/ Ability to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications
A strong knowledge of IT in general, including familiarity with various programming languages, tracing and debugging, and software development tools.
Previous retail customer service experience strongly desired.
Knowledge of xStore Point-of-sale (POS) strongly desired.
Understanding of SQL, JAVA and development methodologies.
Experience with project management platforms such as Jira and Confluence experience highly preferred.
Work Conditions
Usual office environment, including sitting for extended periods of time.
Must be in the office Mon-Fri, working hours are from 8:00AM – 5:00PM (these hours can be flexible depending on manager approval).
Flexible scheduling sometimes required - including evening and weekend work as needed.
Lifting of packaging and boxes required as part of the role. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs due to equipment management/organization.
Pay Range:
$63,175.00-$94,738.75 Annual
