Aston Carter Supply Chain Sourcing Manager in Bothell, Washington

One of the global medical device company located in Bothell, WA is currently hiring for a Sr. Sourcing Manager. This position is going to be requiring experience with employee management as there will be 5 sourcing managers who will be reporting directly to this role. It will be highly beneficial if this employee comes from a similar medical device company or an environment with high regulations.

Pay: $130,000/yr. - $180,000/yr. (depending on medical device industry experience, relevant job title, tenure, employee management, ISM or APICS certification, MBA...etc.)

Schedule: Standard Morning Shift - Monday - Friday

Location: Bothell, WA (100% onsite)

(Primary Responsibilities)

  • Provide strategic sourcing leadership to Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Marketing, Finance, and Service departments in all stages of product development.

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the supply base’s contemporary technology that can be utilized to upgrade existing products and potentially be designed into new products.

  • Develop strategies to source component parts at the lowest total acquisition cost and improve Purchase Price Variance (PPV) year over year.

  • Lead a team of sourcing professionals to develop and implement sourcing strategies in support of 3-year Supply Chain Strategy

  • Provide sourcing strategy support to ensure VA Contract sub-contracting compliance is met and adhered to.

  • Conduct negotiations that lead to Master Supply/Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreements, that are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as within the guidelines of the company's Policies and Procedures.

  • Lead internal, supplier, and cross-functional teams on improvement, value engineering and optimization projects.

  • In partnership with QA RA Quality Engineering, lead and/or organize all necessary supplier business reviews/audits including commercial, financial, and technical to ensure that the company maintains and continues to develop a robust and capable supply base that excels in minimum Defects Per Million (DPM), on-time delivery and lowest total cost of acquisition.

  • Provide regular updates, reports, and metrics on cost improvements, VA Contract compliance, and new product development programs to management and purchasing staff.

  • Support the purchasing teams with regards to Excess and Obsolete (E&O) Inventory, ensuring E&O is reduced to the lowest possible value.

  • Solicit requests for quotations from suppliers as needed. Analyze quotation responses and make recommendations to management for procurement decisions.

  • Manage performance expectations with suppliers.

  • Maintain and improve Commodity Roadmaps.

(Qualification Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in related field required. MBA preferred.

  • Industry experience preferred: Medical Device, Aerospace, Highly Regulated Environment...etc.

  • Minimum 8 years of Purchasing/Supply Chain/Sourcing experience.

  • Minimum 5 Years of people management experience.

  • ISM or APICS certification preferred.

  • Experience in all aspects of sourcing including contract negotiations, commodity based materials management, project management, and commercial analysis, preferably in FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulated industries.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Products utilization

  • Effective communicator and influence leader.

  • Analytical skills and understanding of Margins, COGS, etc., skills desired.

Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
