PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:

This individual contributor position is accountable for supporting supply and material requirement planning/buying activities including analysis of above site and site material supply and demand, identifying key issues, material planning trends, supply vs demand trends and work with the appropriate level of urgency to support BMS cell therapy operations. In addition, the position will play a strategic role in the CAR T Site Supply Chain processes ensuring appropriate inventory management and efficient operations for non-GMP purchasing at BMS Bothell site.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership

  • Subject matter expert in all areas of supply and material planning and data management best practices and methodologies in a highly regulated and complex supply chain structure.

  • Lead the team in the collaborative and cohesively work with cross-functional teams in support of operational efficiency, flexibility, and assurance of material availability.

  • Lead, implement, and manage process improvements initiatives by maintaining open communication with all teams and fostering environment of cooperation in which to achieve shared goals.

  • Coach and mentor team members to develop their skill sets and create an environment of continuous learning, teamwork, transparency, and a sense of urgency.

  • Provide expertise and communicate performance metrics for team, setting and maintaining high expectations for team performance.

  • Communicate with cross-functional leaders inside and outside of Supply Chain to drive successful outcomes for the site and functional business unit.

  • Represent the Material Management team on monthly supply, planning and purchasing meetings.

  • Partner with leadership team to execute site and network strategy.

Material Planning/Purchasing

  • Monitor inventory on hand and at affiliate; take action if and where appropriate based on available inventory, lead times and order quantities

  • Ensure systems are kept up to date with the latest planning and purchasing parameters

  • Track, analyze and report on defined KPI’s to improve on efficiency of process

  • Mentor team to ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations

  • Lead the interface with internal, external teams and suppliers in order to schedule purchase orders/transfers of raw material to meet production demand

Other

  • Author SOP revisions and change controls regarding planning/purchasing management

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects in Supply Operations

  • Promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, and prevention

  • Lead cross-functional efforts to improve systems, processes, or internal/external performance

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Life Sciences

  • 7-9 years’ relevant experience with materials management and/or supply chain, preferably within pharmaceuticals or in a cGMP environment

  • 3+ years of experience supporting ERP systems

  • An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may substitute

  • Preferred but not required: Certification in CPIM, CSCP, and/or CLTD

  • Lean/Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt experience preferred

Experience:

  • Advanced Proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Strong knowledge of inventory systems (preferably SAP)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience to:

  • Solve complicated problems, especially using advanced skills to compile and analyze data

  • Effectively communicate problem statements and escalate concerns

  • Present data and analyses in an organized, clear, and concise manner

  • Work independently for extended periods of time

  • Work as a team and mentor peers/direct reports

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Preferred but not required: Certification in CPIM, CSCP, and/or CLTD

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $130,000 - $163,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation is decided based on demonstrated experience.
