Amazon WWPS SLG-EDU Sr. Microsoft Specialist SA (Level 6) in Boston, Massachusetts

As a SLG-EDU Senior Solutions Architect for the Microsoft technology stack, you will help customers accelerate their adoption of AWS, and analyzing the technical aspects of building and migrating to AWS. You will also play a key role in working with the AWS Service Teams to help them build the best cloud services on Earth. You will create content and speak publicly about the amazing things that our customers are doing on AWS. Additionally, you will engage with other Solutions Architects and the wider field of technology experts to bring your experience and expertise so they can better support our customers.

Your broad responsibilities will include:

• Design and implement strategic migration plans for Microsoft workloads to AWS, ensuring alignment with client objectives and compliance with regulatory standards.

• Owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, as well as defining implementation architectures

• Provide thought leadership in the adoption of .NET applications in the cloud, offering guidance on best practices, scalability, and security.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated solutions that leverage AWS services to meet the unique needs of the SLG EDU sector.

• Lead knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to educate clients and internal teams on Microsoft migrations and cloud optimization strategies.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends in cloud computing and Microsoft ecosystems to inform strategic decisions and innovation efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years IT experience that includes at least 4 years of hands-on .NET software development, Windows infrastructure, or SQL database architecture.

  • Some travel required up to 30% of the time

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Technical studies or equivalent related job experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities

  • Knowledge and/or experience in any of the following:

  • • AWS certification, preferably associate or professional level, additionally certifications on Azure, MCSA, and/or MCSE

  • • Datacenter migration, especially involving Windows Servers and complex Windows workloads

  • • Designing or managing a large SQL Server implementation

  • • Designing or managing a large Active Directory implementation

  • • Knowledge of .NET Programming (C#) and/or life cycle application management (knowledge of CI/CD including technologies like Azure DevOps, Git and Jenkins)

  • • Knowledge of microservices and application modernization techniques

  • • Knowledge of Microsoft licensing and common licensing deployments

  • • Knowledge of infrastructure management platforms like SCCM, SCOM

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
