Job Opening: The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, seeks applicants for Deputy Chief Operating Officer to perform the following duties: /GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) plays a crucial role in supporting the Secretariat's Chief Operating Officer (COO) in directing, administering, and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the operations of the EEA Secretariat. The DCOO assists in aligning operations with the policies objectives, and goals established by the Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs. The DCOO serves as a strategic partner, ensuring the organization meets performance expectations and drives continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and productivity. They provide leadership and direction to various functions, including Human Resources, Information Technology, and Facilities, collaborating to develop systems, processes, and controls that enhance overall efficiency and client service. Additionally, the DCOO plays a key role in managing the organization's strategic direction, fostering a high-performance culture, andrepresentingthe organization with business units. Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential in this dynamic environment, where multitasking is the norm. The Deputy COO willassistin providing leadership and management necessary to ensure EEA has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and systems in place to effectively develop the organization and ensure operating efficiency. They will also collaborate with the COO in developing and implementing specific performance metrics and reporting tools to track EEA’s operational performance and oversee continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities: · Identifymethods to enhance quality, efficiency, productivity, and control measures. · Collaboratewith business unitsto develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures. · Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate activities across multiple teams or departments. · Providetimely,accurate, and complete reports on the company's operating condition. · Demonstrate autonomy while meeting and exceeding COO expectations. · Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company. · Act as a liaison for staff, department leaders, and the COO. · Assist the COO with internal communication and attending to staff needs. · Keep the COO informed on the organization’s project statuses and proposals. · Review upcoming meetings to ensure the COO has necessary information. · Proficiencyin conducting comprehensive process mapping exercises to understand current workflows and pain points. · Proven ability tomonitorand evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes, adjusting as needed to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. · Proficiencyin creating compelling and impactful presentations tailored to leadership audiences. · Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise, and professional memos and standard operating procedures. · Proficiencyin summarizing complex information and conveying it effectively through written communication and/or concise slides, charts, and visuals. Requirements: · Bachelor's degree. · Proven experience in a leadership role · Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. · Ability to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions. · Demonstratedtrack recordof driving continuous improvement initiatives. · Proficiencyin project management and organizational development. · Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. · Strong commitment to professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) six (6) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management of which (B) at least two (2) years must have been in a project management, supervisory or managerial capacity or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required (A) experience. II. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required (A) experience. III. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required (A) experience. IV.
