Robert Half Corporate Staff Accountant in Boston, Massachusetts

Description Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative Financial Services company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. This position is ideal for those who driven by a challenging work environment with many components. This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every single day

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting Requirements - Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Current and relevant ERP system experience

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Foundational knowledge in financial analysis

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Accounting

  • Knowledge of Private Equity

  • Deep understanding of Financial Close Process

  • Experience with US GAAP

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • 1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
