Job Title: Flow Cytometry Medical Technologist

Job Description

The Medical Technologist is responsible for working under the Medical Technical Supervisor on the technical and scientific performance of the laboratory. The Medical Technologist is required to be onsite at all times testing is performed. The Medical Technologist will be available to perform daily Hematology and Flow Cytometry processing and testing utilizing cytometer and hematology analyzer software, perform data acquisition of patient samples, and perform data analysis of the processed samples. The role does not involve performing phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Hematology and Flow Cytometry processing and testing

• Utilize cytometer and hematology analyzer software for testing

• Acquire data from patient samples

• Analyze data from processed samples

• Ensure technical and scientific performance of the laboratory under the supervision of the Medical Technical Supervisor

Essential Skills

• Microbiology

• Serology

• Hematology

• Flow cytometry

• ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (Hematology or related field)

• Laboratory techniques

• Chemistry

• GMP

• Chemical analysis

• Stem cell knowledge

• Blood and apheresis experience

• Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related field

• 2-3 years' experience within flow cytometry preferred

• 2-3 years' experience in apheresis/hematology or serology

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in interacting with departments like R&D Lab, Donor Relations, and Medical services

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Work Environment

This position is 100% onsite, providing a team feel in the Apheresis department. The role involves interacting with other departments such as R&D Lab, Donor Relations, and Medical services. Work hours are Monday-Thursday from 10am-7pm and every-other-Friday from 8:30am-5pm, with every-other-Friday off. Overtime is available when the donor queue is high, with proactive advisement from the manager. The position includes a 30-minute lunch break. The benefits package includes a 401k with up to a 6% match, 15 PTO days, 10 holidays once permanent, and 6 paid federal holidays while on contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $42.00
