Job Functions

The Senior Analyst, IBP Demand Planning is responsible for creating demand forecasts by leveraging history and assumptions gathered through the demand consensus review process. This includes a rolling 24-to-36-month Demand Plan at family level in accordance with the enterprise IBP Process, and SKU level forecasts for the cumulative lead-time horizon. The analyst adds value to the forecast through targeted adjustments that improve accuracy and eliminate bias from the Demand Plan. This position reports to the Demand Planning Manager and provides support to product marketing and account management in monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing trends related to their portfolio. In addition, the demand planner works with integrated supply chain to align supply and demand, and with the business on product allocations.

What Will You Do?  

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:   ​ ​ ​ ​

  • Lead key category monthly demand consensus reviews to drive alignment and accountability to the integrated demand plan. Ensure alignment with Marketing & Sales in development of the consensus forecast.

  • Documents assumptions underlying the plan and highlighting key changes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Sales, Finance, Engineering and Supply Planning and utilize historical order and shipment data, current Point of Sale (POS) trends, field inventory data, promotional activity information to develop the best possible demand plans for new and existing products.

  • Utilize SAP Demand Planning and the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to develop a Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) level demand forecasts for products within the Residential & Landscape Contractor (RLC) portfolio.

  • Communicate changes to cross-functional partners. Quantify and proactively communicate all significant forecasts changes and gaps to all impacted.

  • Review forecast metrics (EVA, BIAS), understand root cause when variability exceeds the norm, and determine best methods to improve forecast accuracy and eliminate bias.

  • Collaborate with Supply Planning and Manufacturing on corresponding planning scenarios and strategies. Communicate and escalate concerns to management to ensure an appropriate supply chain strategy is developed.

  • Participate in development of Annual Business Plans.

  • Major contributor to the implementation and successful roll-out of demand planning tool; Utilize and maintain inputs to the Demand Planning and IBP tools.

  • Support the weekly Integrated Tactical Planning (Sales & Operations Execution) process for the RLC division with cross-functional team including sales, marketing and supply chain

  • Find and implement areas for continuous improvement that can be leveraged across the team

    What Do You Need?  

    To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations

  • 7+ years of relatable experience in demand planning, including use of demand planning software. Capable in data management and analysis in Excel through practical experience using Excel to create and manage planning data.

  • Able to work collaboratively with cross functional partners and lead initiatives as required

  • Proficient in demand planning methodologies, statistical analysis, and forecasting techniques

  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills

  • Knowledge with demand planning tools

  • Experience with project management/leadership

  • Inventory Management proficiency
