Responsibilities

Altec Capital Services (ACS), a division of Altec, is hiring an Accounting Manager II in Birmingham, AL. Associates in this position maintain financial records and complete transactions. These associates understand the relationship between transactions and the potential impact to the business. They work independently and are a collaborative team member for the accounting team and their respective company.

Altec Capital Services (ACS) is a division of Altec, that offers a variety of flexible and affordable finance options for equipment to help our customers improve cash flow while increasing overall profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Complex accounting responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
  • Acquisition due diligence
  • Presenting and analyzing financial statements
  • Creating documentation for financial policies and internal audit review
  • Coordination of month-end close amongst ACS team
  • Assist with external auditor requests
  • Demonstrate full understanding of accounting process and procedures within assigned area
  • Mentor, train and direct the work of the team
  • Financial analysis, and modeling - understanding results, developing conclusions, projecting future results
  • Champion of issue identification and resolution affecting multiple accounts and/or departments
  • Lead projects and continuous improvement initiatives
  • May have direct reports
  • All other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED AND
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance AND
  • 8 years of industry experience AND 2 years of Senior or equivalent experience OR 6 years of public accounting experience
  • CPA preferred

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP system - Alteryx and OneStream experience preferred
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment
  • Must handle stress and deadlines well
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks while ensuring quality work
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Works with minimal direction
  • Effectively delegates work when appropriate
  • 0-25% Travel
