About the Opportunity

Assurance, Technology & Regulation (AT&R) team has a primary focus on three key areas; Independent Oversight & Assurance, Technology Development, and Regulatory Support. We have been directly involved in the Royal Navy’s Nuclear Submarine Program for six decades and support the UK Civil Nuclear & Decommissioning industry.

This role is in the Programme Management Office (PMO) Team within Assurance, Technology and Regulation (AT&R). The Programme Support Manager is responsible for supervising a team which provide business administration, project and programme support services to the teams who support the delivery of AT&R contracts.

What you will be doing:

  • Co-ordinate and supervise the daily the activities of a team of Programme Support staff. The job holder will be accountable for the activities described below and will be responsible for carrying out some of the tasks.

  • Proof reading documents prior to issue, checking for presentational consistency.

  • Issue of deliverables, via secure IT systems, to align with project milestones for delivery.

  • Maintenance and update of project trackers.

  • Supporting Office HSE activities.

  • Purchase of services and materials through the company purchase requisition system.

  • Supporting Line Managers with implementing activities for staff joining or leaving AT&R.

  • Provision of administrative support to senior AT&R managers as required (eg arranging meetings, diary support, taking notes and updating action trackers).

  • Assist Project Managers in the administration activities of delivering projects, including supporting internal and external project communications, organising meetings and events.

  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion.

  • Provide training and mentoring to team members and feedback on performance.

  • Oversee the provision of work instructions which detail the activities undertaken.

  • Provide a reactive service to dealing with day to day issues that may arise in the office, dealing with problems in a practical manner with the ability to identify and implement solutions.

  • Work with other members of the PMO team to support the business, delivering excellence to external and internal customers, ensuring office operational around core office hours.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Strong organisational and logistical skills and experience.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills to provide an agile and flexible service.

  • Ability to multi-task and work under own initiative.

  • Able to work under short term pressure to resolve emerging issues in a timely and responsive manner.

  • Be competent in using all Microsoft office applications.

Our client for this role requires you to be a sole UK national and be able to obtain Security Clearance to UK SC level.
