Guthrie Plumber - Plant Services - Full Time in Binghamton, New York
Position Summary: Installs, repairs, and maintains air, gas, water, and sewer pipes, fittings, and fixtures. Identifies causes for gas, water and sewer leaks or malfunctions. Replaces worn or inadequate pipes, valves, fixtures, and traps. Tests pipe systems for proper operation and determines requirements for additional equipment. Plans or modifies plumbing and piping systems to accommodate new construction or existing facility alteration. Maintains and repairs items such as valves, pumps, and cooling towers.
Education, License & Cert: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of plumbing experience.
Essential Functions:
Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.
Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematic diagrams, plans and specifications.
Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.
Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe‐threading machines, and pipe‐bending machines.
Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
Researches catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.
Coordinate with Facilities Manager, Supervisor, and other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
Maintains Vehicle, tools, and equipment in a safe working condition.
Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
Other Duties:
Travel to regional offices is required.
After hours and weekend emergency call required.

Pay Ranges from $23.13 - $36.10 per hour.
