This individual contributor is responsible to help shape the design and structured experience of Marriott’s digital 'hotel ecosystem,’ the online experience of over 8,000 hotels and resorts worldwide, and their connection to 30+ hospitality brands. Partnering closely with fellow user experience leaders, product management and technology colleagues, the principal designer works to meet needs across our business while advocating for the needs of our leisure, member and non-member customers. This position requires the hands-on ability to produce quality designs and prototypes in order to drive the creative process from the conceptual through successful execution.

A strong portfolio is critical. Your portfolio should showcase your experience in brands, UX and interaction design in digital solutions, particularly highlighting conversion optimization efforts, simplicity and ease-of-use.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• 8+ years of relevant experience in hands-on digital product design with demonstrated leadership experience, strong grounding in general usability and transactional design best practices

• 2+ years of relevant experience with large-scale brands, websites or global digital apps/digital products

• Experience designing a visual identity and brand in a digital space

• Experience delivering design concepts, user journeys, prototypes, etc., across platforms (desktop, mobile web, app, etc.) with inclusivity in mind

• Experience with Agile / SAFE development methodologies

• Thrives working as an individual contributor in a collaborative and cross-functional environment

4-year undergraduate degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:

• Direct and approve the execution of user experience design

• Clearly explain design decisions to leadership, your team, and stakeholders

• Identify future opportunities by keeping up to date with design trends, societal shifts, and new technology

• Be a thought partner providing recommendations based on research and data for experience enhancements across all digital touchpoints

• Collaborate with a variety of user experience disciplines within the team (Information Architecture,

Design System/Standards, User Research, Copywriting) to advance your work

• Provides accurate estimates as to needed time to complete work to feed project plans (and therefore personal deadlines)

• Successfully manages multiple tracks of work simultaneously
