Job Description

This role is within the Client Integration Services team, under ClientWorks Org and falls under OHAI as part of Oracle Health. The engineer will be working across multiple solutions for all the stakeholders and clients we support. As an edge development team, we create custom solutions that help deliver innovation at scale for CommunityWorks and Ambulatory clients. We also support creation of solutions that temporarily fill functional gaps and support creation of reporting and extracts that enables integration with third party vendors. As a Software Developer, they will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, testing and implementing software solution. They will collaborate closely with engineers, testers and other stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.

Responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, testing and implementing software solution in accordance with established standards.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, testers and other stakeholders to write high-quality code and deliver it to clients in a timely manner.

  • Analyse and understand requirements and products.

  • Work with product owners and product managers to understand client expectations on different projects.

  • Contribute to scoping and improvement of solution designs, peer review code and design.

  • Debug existing code to identify and resolve issues.

  • Propose performance optimization and devise ideas for overall code refinement.

  • Provide guidance to junior developers.

  • Identify gaps in existing processes and suggest changes.

  • Work independently on developing medium complex solutions.

  • Work in collaboration with senior developers on high complex solutions.

  • Release code in production.

Tools and Tech Stack:

  • Programming Languages: Cerner Command Language (CCL), SQL, JavaScript

  • IDEs: In-house applications (Discern Visual Developer, Extract Manager)

  • Tools: Git, JIRA

Basic Qualification Required:

  • At least, 2 year of relevant development experience

  • Bachelors Computer Engineering, Bachelors Software Engineering, Bachelors Computer Science, Bachelors Information Systems

Skills Needed:

  • Proficient in SQL or similar query language

  • Intermediate problem-solving skills

  • Good understanding of product development lifecycle

  • Basic understanding of agile methodology

For Oracle Cerner internal candidates only:

  • Intermediate CCL experience

  • Knowledge of Millennium data models

  • Basic knowledge of Oracle Cerner Millennium products

Additional Skills Preferred:

  • GIT and JIRA experience

  • Basics of OOP concepts

  • Adept at understanding and using new products and adopting new technology
