Intel Software Application Architect in Bengaluru, India

Job Description

Defines software application architecture across client, cloud, or enterprise. Makes highlevel design choices focused on manageability, scalability, usability, resiliency, availability, security, and/or safety for the software structure, protocols, and algorithms. Determines coding, development tools, validation, and standards compliance requirements. Collaborates with management, product owners, and project managers to evaluate feasibility of requirements and determine priorities for development. Performs pathfinding, surveys technologies, participates in standards committees, and presents at external and internal events. Interacts with multiple technologists in the company to influence architectures and optimize/customize software offerings.

The candidate will lead and participate in all phases of a typical software development lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, coding, testing, release, and deployment) involved in the implementation of enterprise-wide factory automation systems (e.g. Manufacturing Execution Systems) for Intel factories. The candidate will also be expected to provide 24x7 on-call production support and deliver end-user training for products deployed. The job might involve working as part of a geographically dispersed team, requiring travel to various Intel locations worldwide and working alternate hours to meet business needs.

Qualifications

The candidate is expected to have in-depth expertise and hands-on experience in a significant portion of the following areas:

Software Engineering - Strong foundational Software engineering skills in requirements engineering, design, coding, testing, build, release mgmt, beta deployment with experience in Agile development methodologies and tools.

Architecture and Design Skills - Good foundation and experience on architecture and design of high performance, scalable, reliable and available mission-critical enterprise systems.

Technology Skills: a) Must have strong foundational coding skills based on .NET Framework, C#, and PLSQL programming development on Oracle or SQL Server b) Must have strong problem-solving skills and production support experience for complex integrated mission-critical environments is highly desirable. c) Dot Net development - 5+ years. d) WPF, WCF Experience - 3+ years. Angular and REST based UI and MT development is desired.

Domain Skills: (Desirable) Experience working in automated manufacturing execution systems, especially in Recipe Management and Material Management will be highly desirable.

Other Skills: - Strong team work and working with diverse cultures as part of geographically dispersed virtual teams. - Willingness and desire to provide 24X7 on-call production support. - High degree of customer orientation. - Self-starter in a rapidly changing environment with a steep learning curve and on the job training to deliver software in frequent release cycles. Quickly understand the domain and communicate to the customers in domain specific terminology. - Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence direction using the right use of information and emotion. - Strong data-based decision-making skills. - Strong problem-solving skills using a structured approach - Solid commitment to the task wrt schedule, quality - Desirable - Inspire, Influence, Empower, Motivate and Develop team spirit with a can-do approach

Experience Level - Minimum 8 years of industry experience working in software development teams. Experience working in a manufacturing environment, specifically the semiconductor industry will be an asset.

Educational Qualification - Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science engineering or equivalent subject.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
