Data Scientist Conusltant

We are looking for a data scientist to join our translation team and work on developing and improving machine translation (MT) and natural language generation (NLG) systems for our products and services. You will be responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and interpreting large amounts of data from various sources, such as linguistic corpora, ontologies, dictionaries, etc. You will also be involved in creating predictive models and machine-learning algorithms that can handle complex and diverse languages, domains, and tasks.

• Collect data through means such as analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies

• Transfer data into a new format to make it more appropriate for analysis

• Create new, experimental frameworks to collect data

• Collaborate with computational linguists to optimize training data for prediction models

Essential Requirements

• Experience: Overall 13+ years of experience with minimum of 5+ years od experience in developing MT (Machine Translation) and NLG (Natural Language Generating) systems using Python or other programming languages

• Experience with large language models and generative AI, NLP frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

• Experience with large-scale data processing using distributed computing environments such as Spark or MapReduce. Experience with linguistic annotation tools such as Annoty or OntoNotes

• Knowledge of machine learning concepts such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, etc. Knowledge of natural language generation concepts such as text summarization, text simplification, text paraphrasing, etc.

• Experience in translation industry and familiarity with tasks such as source text optimization, automated post-editing, MT quality estimation and error annotation. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Desirable Requirements

• Master’s degree/PhD

• Strong Mentoring and Coaching skills
