Oracle Consulting Practice Manager in BENGALURU, India

Job Description

This manager-level position is responsible segment within a given practice focused on a specific industry, service line, technology center, specialty area or region. Responsible for leading the three main pillars of a practice: people management, portfolio/delivery management and sales enablement. Has profit and loss responsibility or financial/expense management of practice.

Banking Consulting Europe which is a part of EMEA Region under ‘FSGBU - Consulting’ delivers Oracle Technology and Applications solutions for clientele in the European region. The service offerings include Application Implementation, Managed Services and Customization development services for Oracle Financial Services Software Banking products.

Opportunity

This gives an opportunity to apply Project Management knowledge, skills and experience to work in the Banking Consulting team with a new generation of Oracle Banking products in next generation architecture built leveraging the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

The Role

Activities in Development or Implementation or Managed Service activity streams as a Project Manager and Techno-Functional Team-Lead.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing quality work products on customer engagements while handling a small team of consultants

  2. Project planning and tracking: Lead Oracle and partner resources and track all project results.

  3. Pro-active identification and mitigation of project risks and manage client and Oracle issues.

  4. Participate in the decision-making process for all system changes and designs.

  5. Use defined standards/tools/processes to achieve deliverables that meet quality expectations of Oracle / Client.

  6. Adhere to defined Change Control Process of Oracle / Client. Align with Oracle / Client audit / Compliance requirements.

  7. Mentor and guide the team along with providing trainings, conducting performance reviews as applicable.

  8. Participate in pre-sales activities and contribute towards generating business to consulting.

  9. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs.

  10. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices in demonstrating expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.

  11. May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

  12. Effectively collaborates with management of customer organizations.

Desired Skills & Experience

Primary Skills

  • Lead, engage, mobilize and motivate multiple teams to accomplish goals in Core-Banking Product and Technology Implementations, Development and Support domains.

  • Expertise in planning and execution of projects covering entire SDLC from initial RFP / Product Walkthrough workshops with prospects, Design of customizations, Coding and Unit testing, performing Test cycle rounds including End of Days, migrations and Integrations for Oracle FLEXCUBE / Core banking products.

  • Possess working knowledge and skills in software programming working with cloud tools, technologies and framework and understanding of solutions, industry standard methodologies, multiple business processes or technology designs within Core Banking domain.

  • Good problem solving, troubleshooting & communication skills.

  • Good client interaction skills in PM areas including presentation of solutions

  • Good skills on Microsoft Office, MS Excel, Powerpoint

  • Good communication & documentation skills in English

Secondary Skills

  • Have exposure to Automation of Software Development and Testing processes, Agile Development practice, DevOps tools, Automated-Testing tools

  • Possess knowledge of Oracle OBIEE Reports, BIP, middleware such as Oracle Fusion SOA Suite

  • Aware of Microservices based technologies in Banking!

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience relevant to this position including 6 years of Consulting experience and 4 years of Project Management leadership experience.

  • Experience in development and / or implementation and / or support of Core Banking applications.

Educational and Other Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.

Work Environment

  • Work at offshore as well as travel to client locations

  • Willing to take up FLEXCUBE Technical certifications in functional areas as and when required.

  • Ability to work in a high pressure, fast moving and challenging environment

  • Should be able to work on shifts on rotation basis based on project needs

Accountable for operational/financial metrics and overall business results of practice. Responsible for maintaining practice direction, ensuring quality of consulting delivery, and maintaining customer reference-ability. Ensures that operational policies are followed and that business objectives are achieved by focusing on standard methodologies and process improvements. Develops plans to successfully implement operational policies and achieves business plan. Is accountable for managing and growing a revenue stream and customer base. Typically manages individual contributors. May serve as advisor for moderately complex engagements.
