Are you excited by the prospect of building the technical infrastructure to enable an omnichannel worldwide growth and development model at Amazon & Whole Foods to excel at serving our customers? Do you have a vision for creating operational, financial, and sustainability tools that facilitate the expansion of an efficient and unified grocery store experience? Then the Sr. Product Technical Manager with Worldwide Real Estate, Growth and Development may be a great fit for you.

Amazon and Whole Foods are now under one operational grocery family, taking the best from both worlds to provide customers with a low-cost, world-class shopping experience. We’re seeking a motivated and experienced principal manager to work across Amazon and Whole Foods technical stacks, understand and create the annual road map for technical / software tools, and balance that with the needs for the overall grocery development plan. They will work alongside a small team of Senior Product Managers and Software Engineers to build out the needs for custom software, integrate existing tools, and maintain off-the-shelf products for the WW grocery organization’s expansion goals.

The Sr. Product Technical Manager is an excellent operational leader with the technical skills to match. They have superb written and verbal communication skills, and experience building comprehensive operational, project management, financial and sustainability tools to support multiple industrial and retail operations. The tools they build will track and output highly intuitive decision-making and operational/project management data to senior leaders, automate/unify financial and capital planning data for two fortune 500 companies, and create sustainability architecture to help maintain our climate pledge goals in the midst of this expansion process.

The primary deliverables owned and created by this manager are the bi-annual technical vision document to support the operational/financial expansion and maintenance of more than 500 facilities (both retail and industrial), a monthly central product update that tracks product development goals status to the annual vision, key build requirement documents that collect tool necessities for customers and business leaders and translate them to software work efforts and timelines, and weekly sprint / scrum reports on what’s above / below the line for SDEs. Alongside these core deliverables the Product Manager will work cross-functionally with centralized Amazon and Whole Foods tech teams to see what tools already exist or reduce size requests by leveraging current products. They will be intimately familiar with operational, financial planning and launch execution processes to help translate business leaders’ needs into technical tools that streamline business activities. Above all they excel at earning trust, respecting and prioritizing their customers and peers, and driving a technical vision in an ambiguous environment.
