Working at our Beavercreek Site :

GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating.

Role Overview:

This role will be responsible for providing engineering and shop support to OEM operations by introducing and maintaining hardware and processes associated with machining. Primary functions include the creation and maintenance of manufacturing planning (Routers, BOMs, MOS, FAI, etc.) for the machine division. Identify, lead, and implement cost-out, quality, and EHS projects by utilizing available tools such as Lean Six Sigma methodology and Flight Deck Fundamentals.

  • Work closely with design and tool room for new tooling as well as improvement on existing.

  • Work closely with programming for the implementation of NPI and improvement on legacy hardware.

  • Identify, lead, and implement safety, quality, delivery and cost out projects by utilizing available tools such as Lean Six Sigma methodology and Flight Deck Fundamentals.

  • Support with problem solving in order to ensure continuous product flow.

The Ideal Candidate:

Will work closely with engineering team and production leaders to drive projects that will support operational goals that align with SQDC.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED

  • Four years of progressive experience in manufacturing positions (This may include, but is not limited to: Tool Building, Production, Inspection, Engineering, or other related technical experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CNC machining/programming (G Code, Conversational, etc.) on both lathes and mills.

  • Experience with various inspection methods (CMM, Optical comparators, etc.).

  • Experience with tool / fixture design and build

  • Experience with Unigraphics, Solidworks, Inventor, or other 3D CAD software

  • Experience in Oracle, MAPICs or some type of ERP System

  • Excellent personal computer (PC) skills including Microsoft excel

  • Ability to set realistic, yet challenging project and operational goals

  • Trained in six sigma tools and applications

  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniques

  • Experience in specifying and providing economic justification for purchase of capital equipment

  • Experience writing work instructions and training operators in those instructions

  • Familiarity with AL-231 Manufacturing Operation Sheets and / or AL-237 Quality Planning Maintenance

  • Proven ability to initiate and complete projects within demanding time constraints

  • Proven planning and leadership ability of multiple and concurrent projects

  • Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to listen to and motivate others

  • History of hands-on involvement with manufacturing issues

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

  • Ability to communicate with customers on an as needed basis

  • Ability to communicate with Leader(s) on progress or status of a project.

Additional Information:

  • Ability to work in an area where there is moderate noise intensity (85 to 8-9 dBa)

  • Ability to work in an area where, due to normal machining operations, there may be dust, fumes or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL))

  • Ability to work extended hours when needed
