ASM Global Director of Facility Operations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Position: Director of Facility Operations

Reports to: Assistant General Manager

FLSA Status: Salaried – Exempt

Summary: The Raising Cane's River Center / ASM GLOBAL is searching for a full-time Director of Facility Operations. The position, located in Baton Rouge, LA. The Director of Facility Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the Raising Cane’s River Center, and/or events. This includes managing operations, supervising staff, coordinating with other departments and contractors, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, and schedule all aspects of operations, including building maintenance, changeover, housekeeping, security, technical services, ADA and OSHA compliance, public safety, and security.

  • Act as project manager for capital improvement and MRR projects.

  • Ensures proper and efficient operation of building management system, lighting controls, mechanical systems, fire systems, water feature, and other building systems.

  • Inspects conversion construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.

  • Authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.

  • Act as a liaison between tenants and facility contractors as needed.

  • Schedules, coordinates and supervises/monitors general maintenance of facility.

  • Supervise the house trades staff including: plan and direct PM and corrective work, compliance with policies, ensures proper staffing levels to meet event and maintenance needs.

  • Plans and directs the work of 3rd Party maintenance and service contractors as well as construction projects to ensure satisfactory work and compliance.

  • Prepares scope, schedules and oversees all inspections of building and its systems

  • Works closely with the leadership team in the preparation and negotiation of Maintenance and Service Agreements.

  • Develops and implements an emergency action plan for system malfunctions or breakdowns; develops and implements corrective actions and solutions

  • Provides technical support, oversees and/or assists with repairs and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment.

  • Ensures proper utilization of Altum Maintenance Manager System and the point of contact for system use & training.

  • Acts as contact for suppliers, contractors and vendors

  • Acts as a resource for Sales and Events staff with event based technical inquiries and challenges

  • Ensures adherence to OSHA and other applicable safety codes to include conducting safety training and investigating safety issues.

  • Develops and recommends facility capital budget(s) for repairs, upgrades and improvements to the facility.

  • Assists in budget development and is responsible for fiscal adherence to departmental budget

  • Develop contractually required reports to provide to owner.

  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility rigging capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility equipment; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.

  • Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.

  • Engage in much decision-making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy.

  • Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches, event documents and preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and others encountered in the course of employment.

  • Read and comprehend drawings, event documents and preventative maintenance documents, and other related materials.

  • Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.

  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and four (4) years related experience and/or training in the public assembly industry in a supervisory or management position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 to 5 Years previous experience in the sports and entertainment and/or venue management industry preferred.

  • Forklift experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Possess skills and experience in contract negotiations, business law, budget preparation, purchasing procedures and supervising/training personnel.

  • Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.

Computer Skills

  • Operate a personal computer using CAD, Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel and other standard office equipment.

Other Qualifications

  • Be licensed to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
