The Building Performance Group primarily supports the UK business in terms of Net-Zero Carbon and wider sustainability advice within the Built Environment. While the group works on single building projects it also provides sustainability & energy master planning advice for both urban and semi-rural developments, as well as BREEAM, LEED and WELL consulting services.

We have experience of a comprehensive range of different building types including; aviation and defence sector buildings, science and technology, education, logistics and healthcare and are looking to grow our capacity and capability through further recruitment.

The Building Performance Group is actively involved in developing projects working towards Net Zero Carbon with advanced modelling techniques and innovative solutions.

  • Undertaking dynamic thermal modelling including building regulation compliance, thermal comfort and operational energy usage and/or use of SAP software

  • Preparing Energy & Sustainability statements

  • Advise our Clients on the best strategy to reduce the energy usage in the built environment

  • Support the MEP Design Teams in developing the design strategy

  • Support the Team with other workflows when required

  • Support the delivery of sustainable building solutions on high profile projects

YOUR TEAM

The Southern Sustainability Team is a dynamic and motivated team focused on the built environment. We are the centre of excellence for the aviation sector in UK, but we have also successfully delivered a wide range of projects including new University Buildings, offices, defence sector buildings, science and technology, logistics, healthcare and multi residential buildings. For us, Sustainability is at the core of the design and it represents an important value we deliver in every project. Join our Team and you will:

  • Work on a different range of local and National projects

  • Engage Clients directly and be the reference figure for the Team

  • Contribute to the development the Group’s Sustainability and Low Carbon strategy and policies

  • Receive training on a variety of other Sustainability topics

  • Be involved in supporting national organisations in developing the new standards for the built environment (CIBSE, LETI, UKGBC…)

  • Be at the forefront of innovation

  • Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.

  • Strong passion for sustainability and a good understanding of low-carbon building solutions

  • An understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies (Accreditation with BREEAM/LEED/WELL would be an advantage)

  • Advantage if the candidate has experience in Dynamic Thermal Modelling (ideally using IES software and/or Grasshopper/Ladybug).

  • Advantage if the candidate has knowledge of HVAC systems modelling using ApacheHVAC or similar.

  • Advantage if the candidate is a LCC or LCEA.

  • Skills in assessing the feasibility of renewable and low carbon energy solutions.?

  • Be able to effectively communicate to clients both inside and outside the business.

  • An Engineering background and an understanding of Mechanical Building Services.

  • Keen to have a positive impact in the built environment

  • Positive mindset and can-do attitude
