Abbott Established Pharmaceutical Division (EPD) is looking for a

Global Pricing Lead

for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.

Primary Job Function:

Manage pricing practices across EPD, reduce pricing risk exposure through robust IRP analytics, effective in-country and cross-country mitigation measures. Drive price optimization initiatives.

Monitor price guidance and governance and propose necessary amendments.

Be a pricing expert on emerging market countries and share knowledge regarding key pricing developments in these markets. Ability to communicate them including the potential impact on the EPD business.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the assessment of price changes on revenues and timing across markets.

  • Drive initiative aiming at optimizing list and net prices to maximize profitability.

  • Closely work with Local and Regional Market Access Teams to develop and implement solutions.

  • International Reference Pricing Risk: Drive cross-country mitigation projects including identification and execution of mitigation measures by: Developing and reinforcing cross-functional collaboration with other functions such as Regulatory Affairs and Operations and by providing them with strategic expertise, services and coordination on pricing that enhance their business decisions. Monitoring and proactively developing/amending pricing mitigation strategies following legislation/economic changes or company strategy re-orientation.

  • Coordinate with local and other regional departments to maintain list and net prices.

  • Ensure effective adherence to pricing guidance and governance. Support the development of the launch sequences.

  • Coordinate with assigned countries and other EPD functions to ensure that pricing and access are optimized.

  • Support the development of the net price strategies for in-market products. Support the development of pricing dashboards and tools in collaboration with other functions (Insights, Finance, IT).

  • Improve affiliates' pricing capabilities by listening to their needs and providing continuous training on the different tools, terminology, and company price approval process.

  • Assist with any other tasks and ad-hoc requests.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

  • 3-5 years' experience in pricing/market access, ideally in an affiliate or regional role

  • Experience in a Matrix and complex environment is highly desirable

  • Successful track record in providing pricing expertise to achieve business results

  • Experience in the area of generics or brand generics

  • Awareness of the competitive landscape and market dynamics. Understanding of IRP mechanisms, rules and regulations in Emerging Markets
