Job Description

Purpose

The Statutory Accounting Lead is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the local statutory and tax compliance requirements for the countries supported. This position is the liaison with the external auditors and the Affiliates by coordinating all statutory requests during the audits, including providing information, preparing the financial statements, and answering technical questions. This colleague must possess a solid technical accounting knowledge of the local requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the statutory financial statements, including the related disclosures.

  • Review the US GAAP monthly closing process to prepare adjustments for local books.

  • Maintain Balance Sheet reconciliations for statutory GL accounts.

  • Interpretate and roll out of local accounting policy/technical standards.

  • Coordinate the statutory audits and manage the audit schedule.

  • Prepare the local tax provision calculation.

  • Support tax COE in primary and secondary filings and manage accounting for taxes.

  • Conform to EH&S management system requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement, and consider EH&S aspects during the design and change process.

  • Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal, and any other program applicable according to the position duties.

Significant work activities:

  • Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required

  • Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required, CPA (or equivalent) preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience in local statutory process in the pharma sector is needed.

  • Fully bilingual (including English) is required.

  • Proficiency in Excel, strong computer skills, and experience in SAP are required.

  • Customer service oriented, strong communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities and comply with deadlines, continuous improvement mindset are required.
