Cisco Security: Senior Engineering Manager - AI Firewall - Job Description

Who You Are

As a Senior Engineering Manager on the Cisco Security AI team, you will lead a diverse team of talented engineers in the development of our AI Firewall solution. This team will be involved in creating robust, efficient, and secure software solutions to safeguard Generative AI applications and models from various threats such as data poisoning, model stealing, prompt injection, jailbreaking and adversarial attacks. You will be responsible for the strategy, development, execution, and quality of various features of the product. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to build, deploy, and scale AI Firewall services and ensure efficient deployment on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. You will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding the team to improve their skills and achieve their professional goals.

You'll join a small, high-caliber team of machine learning specialists, large scale systems experts, NLP and computer vision experts, product gurus, customer champions, and world-class designers who are passionate about the future brought by AI. • Develop and execute a strategic plan for the AI Firewall solution, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs

Work with product teams to define/refine requirements and plan deliverables and timelines

• Lead a diverse team of engineers in the implementation of the AI Firewall solution as a scalable, reliable, secure & high-quality product

Collaborate with data scientists and AI engineers to integrate AI models and algorithms into the platform

• Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity, inclusion, and open communication.

Mentor and guide team members, providing feedback, coaching, and support to help them grow professionally.

• Actively participate in hiring activities to grow the team further

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 15+ years of Engineering exp or Master's degree and 12+ years of Engineering exp or PhD and 8+ years of Engineering experience

4+ years of experience leading engineering teams

• Ability to hire, lead and strengthen large, diverse, global engineering teams; cultivate a strong engineering community and drive innovation

Experience with Golang & Python or other similar languages

• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Experience with at least one of the major cloud computing platforms such as AWS/GCP/Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning / Mathematics / Data Science or equivalent work experience in a field utilizing the same subject matter

Prior experience building security solutions and products

• Demonstrable leadership skills and ability to build and lead software engineering teams.

Demonstrable experience in building SaaS products.

• Demonstrable experience in building applied AI/ML products.

Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture and cloud infrastructure

• Extraordinarily resourceful & thorough, you can operate successfully among forward-thinking people.

Equally comfortable and capable of interacting with technologists as with business executives.
