Johns Hopkins University Research Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland
We are seeking to hire a Research Specialist with established expertise and knowledge in immunology. Under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory manager, is responsible for performing routine analyses and tests animal or human fluids and/or tissue or cultured cell lines.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Perform experiments to investigate immunological responses to cancer vaccines, using techniques such as flow cytometry and ELISpots.
Tissue culture: Culture and maintain primary cells and cell lines using sterile technique. Be able to perform in vitro assays to assess cellular responses and use gene editing techniques to generate cellular models.
Data analysis and interpretation: Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and relevant software tools, such as GraphPad, and present findings to the research team.
Lab Maintenance: Maintain lab equipment, reagent stocks, and necessary records.
Demonstrated experience in immunology, cell biology, or tissue culture, through previous research positions.
Proficiency in a wide range of laboratory techniques, including flow cytometry, ELISAs, Western Blotting, and PCR is preferred.
Hands-on experience with tissue culture techniques
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced research environment.
Strong communication skills and an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
One year laboratory experience performing relevant techniques.

Starting Salary Range: $16.92 - $29.61 HRLY ($23.27 hourly targeted; Commensurate with experience)
