Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Infectious Diseases seeks a Research Program Coordinator who is a bright, hardworking professional to join our group under the supervision of a senior research program coordinator and a Principal Investigator (PI) in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. The program coordinator will form an integral part of the team implementing an NIH supported study focused on women’s reproductive health. The program coordinator will be responsible for recruiting, consenting and enrolling patients, maintaining study documentation and ensuring correct implementation of study procedures. The position will involve spending a portion of most days of the week at outlying recruitment sites (mainly in Baltimore City), and then driving back to Johns Hopkins Bayview to store samples and participate in additional research activities for the remainder of the day; a car and the ability to drive daily is therefore a necessity. The position requires precision in documentation of clinical and research data, maintenance of regulatory methods, research participant and patient scheduling, and miscellaneous administrative responsibilities as well as a commitment to improving women’s reproductive health.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide support for the daily operation, pre-study visit preparation, and sample collection for clinical research studies.

  • Recruit, obtain informed consent, enroll and schedule participants, enter them into OnCore and update as needed, maintain all protocols for study visits.

  • Implement patient study visits and initiate ordering of study required labs to be signed by study clinicians.

  • Review study consents for completeness, scan and le according to internal SOPs.

  • Maintain regulatory documents according to internal SOPs.

  • Assist with data entry.

  • Collect and store biological samples.

  • Schedule participant visits, communicate with participants and schedule reminders.

  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and proficient knowledge of regulatory documentation.

  • Collect data from patient medical records and questionnaires, prepare and code data entry, assist with data entry.

  • Assist with grant and contract preparation.

  • Ensure participant and data confidentiality as well as safety, welfare, and privacy of study participants.

  • Report all adverse events or problems to PI and safety monitoring team; assist with reporting to IRB as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

*Position requires a car. Most days will be spent with mornings at JH Whitemarsh, JH Remington or Baltimore City Health Department Clinics. Remainder of the day will be spent at JH Bayview.

  • Significant mobility, ability to walk back and forth from care and different study locations to lab, and ability to transport specimens.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • Must have car, driver’s license and ability to drive daily to and from the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus to outlying recruitment sites (mainly in Baltimore City).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical program coordination experience.

Starting Salary Range: $17.00 - $30.00 HRLY ($48,880 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
