Catholic Charities Nursing Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

Full time and Part time schedules available, Pay rate is $17.60 - $18.18 per hour

St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking Geriatric Nursing Assistants, who performs medical and physical care to elders in nursing unit to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides a comprehensive array of individualized rehabilitation and nursing services, including short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, memory care and in-patient hospice care. We are hiring for the following shifts: Day (7a-3p), Evening (3pm-11pm) and Nights (11pm-7am) working every other weekend.

JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Attends to all elders personal hygiene and daily living. This may include, but not limited to, providing baths, shampoo and shaving, providing and clearing bedpans and urinals, assists with meals and feeds patients. Ambulates, turns and positions patients. Provides fresh water and nourishment between meals. Plans and facilitates social activities for elders of the nursing unit which provide meaningful ways to spend time through recreation, exercise, and relationship building. Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards in all work and elder activities. Reports observations of elders to the nurse caring for the patient to ensure professional assessment. Participates actively in the elders care planning and care plan meetings, serving as the elders closest advocate in directing their care and honoring their preferences.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED.Certification/Licensure:Passed the Certified Nursing Assistant examination and meets Federal requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: Heavy work that includes adjusting or moving objects up to 75# in all directions. Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned. Hearing and vision abilities within normal range and to observe and communicate with patients. Communicating with others to exchange information. Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
