Johns Hopkins University Laboratory Aide in Baltimore, Maryland
The Department of Neurology is seeking a casual Laboratory Aide for the Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory. The Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory is a dynamic 14-member lab that works collaboratively to study nerve fibers in the skin. The Cutaneous Nerve Laboratory deals with clinical samples, clinical research projects, animal model-based research and serve as a core laboratory for world-wide clinical trials. Together, the lab processes over 3000 samples for different axonal and sensory structures including unmyelinated and myelinated nerve fibers, Schwann cells, Merkel cells, Meissner’s corpuscles, and subset of nerve fibers.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Sorting/filing slides.
Filing patient paperwork.
Assembling biopsy kits for outside clinical sites.
Sorting data on Excel spreadsheets.
Helping prepare chemicals.
Cutting research animal tissue.
Minimum Qualifications
Actively pursuing High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
Able to work over breaks and in the summer.

Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - $20.00 HRLY (Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: 4 Days per week; hours vary
