Work involves operating motor vehicles (automobiles, vans, trucks, and buses) used to transport passengers and cargo on a scheduled or on-call basis and coordinates vehicle maintenance. The Vehicle Driver generally works 8-5, M-F but schedule may vary to meet facility needs. The Vehicle Driver works under the direct supervision of the Vocational warehouse manager Coordinator. The Vehicle Driver is the primary truck driver to pick-up and/or delivery of materials and/or completed products between the vocational Service Department and customers/vendors/suppliers, distribution of work to various workshop, inc. Transportation duties will include both scheduled and unscheduled runs. The Vehicle Driver serves as the back-up driver to the bus driver as needed to assist in the safe loading and unloading of passengers and cargo. The Completion of work requires occasionally originating new methods and/or techniques and decisions are varied but based on well-defined guidelines. Performs routine motor vehicle operations. Prepares and maintains forms and records pertaining to vehicle operation, transportation of passengers or cargo. The Vehicle Driver is responsibilities to maintaining/servicing assigned vehicles, assisting in production and quality assurance of contract work, and be responsible providing assistance to warehouse operation to warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and tracking inventory. Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.Operates motor vehicles such as vans and trucks and transports passengers, and cargo. Physical requirements of standing, carrying, pushing and lifting of items more than 40 lbs. Prepares and maintains records and logs related to vehicle operations. Ability to understand and to comply with written and oral instructions. Has ability to do simple mathematic calculation.Performs basic vehicle maintenance, makes minor repairs, and fuels vehicles.
