The Opportunity
In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Sr. Commercial Analyst, EP. The role is pivotal in developing and implementing sales growth strategy and tactical plans aligned to inline and future launch products. This role plays a pivotal role to support decision-making regarding the overall health of the business. This role collaborates with Marketing, Finance, and sales and requires excellent Excel/analytic skills and communication and presentation skills. This position reports to the Manager, Commercial Effectiveness, US EP.
What You’ll Work On
The US EP Commercial Analyst, EP has responsibility for collecting and analyzing data to understand US EP Market trends, sales trends, customer behavior, and other relevant metrics to identify opportunities for growth and create impactful, future strategies.
Work closely with field sales management to identify competitive accounts for conversion and leveraging all commercial and non-commercial functions to gain business and take share
Perform account/customer segmentation analytics and create account targeting reports; work with regional and local marketing teams to identify key customer targets
Identify process improvements by evaluating existing sales processes and identifying opportunities for streamlining and optimization to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Conduct US market research analysis to understand industry trends by working with the Commercial Effectiveness, Marketing, Field Finance, as well as local sales leadership and their teams
Quickly develop understanding of Electrophysiology (EP) products, procedures and market dynamics. Essential success factors for the position include attention to detail and high-level analytical skills with expertise in Excel
Develop and track key performance indicators to measure the success of sales and marketing initiatives and identify areas for improvement
Support the US Commercial Effectiveness Organization in tracking and reporting Abbott’s share position and performance metrics that will be used in tactical and strategic business decisions for Abbott’s Electrophysiology products
Collaborate with key business partners: Strategy, Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, & Finance. Understand downstream needs (Field) and upstream needs to act as an efficient bridge between the teams
Collect and maintain information on Abbott procedure dynamics, working closely with commercial teams
Perform independent analyses and create/maintain global models in the areas of product line trends and product mix changes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred. Background in Finance, Statistics, Data Management, Marketing or other quantitative discipline is helpful
3+ years’ experience in analyst role
Proven ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights and coherent strategies
Advanced Excel and analytical skills required. Use of Excel for data manipulation and complex custom reports
Desire to work in a fast paced, growing, deadline driven, startup-up environment. Ability to inform rapid, but fact-based decision-making with imperfect data. Self-motivated, driven to achieve team commitments
Curious/Inquisitive: Investigates the current situation, asks the relevant questions needed to get the whole picture; then provides specific actionable recommendations
Ability to travel up to 10% - both domestic and international
Experience in Salesforce, PowerBI, Business Objects, and Tableau for access to and analysis of data
Ability to effectively prioritize projects that align with corporate priorities
Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills
In-office work required 4-days a week with one flexible remote day

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
