Assist with the development of the annual operating budget, providing guidance and support to all departmental personnel. Communicate budget processes and procedures to departments and provide problem-solving assistance to departments throughout the course of the budget calendar. Communicate final budgets to departments and help facilitate annual Tableau budget load and implementation.Support the Finance Manager, Finance Team, and leadership, manage records, spreadsheets, databases, and other resources to effectively document and monitor budgets as assigned. Prepare routine financial reports and presentations to inform senior leadership of the status of funds and variance to budget. Review and reconcile detailed monthly departmental transaction reports. Carry out ad hoc reporting and analysis in support of Medical School initiatives including financial modeling of new business proposals. Provide other ad hoc budget reports as needed.Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting. Review and analyze budget variances against plans and forecasts to aid senior leadership in programmatic and business decisions. Request budget/account transfers as appropriate.Assist with preparation of deliverables, timelines, and presentation materials for the leadership team related to the Dell Medical School annual budgeting process as well as materials for department utilization. Other related duties as assigned.
