Our objective is to create the best service experience to all Apple customers. As a demand planning organization, we sit at the early stages of all Supply Chain and Operations activities. We provide material forecasts at various levels to help the Supply Chain Operations plan for parts to be available where our service customers are. Our commitment to service customers starts when Apple sells the first unit to the customer and can last up to 10 years after we ship the last units. The purpose of this role is to provide timely and accurate forecasts with insights on demand, enabling effective decision-making. This manager role in AppleCare’s Demand Planning organization requires demand planning and forecasting expertise coupled with team building and development. As a manager on this team you will be responsible for the forecasts for your Lines of Businesses to allow for seamless service supply chain execution and overseeing the system improvement and development required to support growing complexities to best serve Apple customers.

Key Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in Demand Planning and Forecasting, preferably in the high-tech industry and/or Service operations

  • Ability to prioritize in fast paced situations and encourage colleagues to meet desired outcomes

  • Demonstrate success coordinating and influencing outcomes across geographically dispersed teams, both virtually and directly

  • Strong understanding of supply chain functions, best-practices and business savvy

  • Highly analytical, with ability to evaluate, analyze and offer scalable solutions to emerging problems

  • Proven track record of problem-solving and improving processes by leveraging systems / automation

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills

  • Experience addressing cross-functional partners and senior management

Description

As the manager for your Line of Business/es, you will play a key role coordinating your team to generate Service Demand forecasts in close collaboration with Service Supply Chain teams. You will be responsible in making sure that the forecast is shared with partners from various functions in an accurate and timely manner, including to the leadership team. To be successful, you will have a good understanding of various forecasting approaches, systems and drivers of forecast accuracy. Ensuring a robust review process to identify areas of risk and proactive mitigation of those, while retaining consistency will be key to retaining partner trust. You will need to challenge/validate forecast creation to optimize overall accuracy/usability of the demand signal for a multitude of partners. Given the broad scope of the Demand planning organization, strong analytical skills and comfort with systems is essential to manage the scale of our operations and you would need a high degree of attention to detail as well as the desire to keep improving processes and systems across various cross-functional teams. In this role, you’ll manage the operational processes of the team, set project priorities, drive improvements, and provide both functional and developmental mentorship to the team.
