JEFFERSON STATE BANK Investment Advisor Level II in Austin, Texas

JOB FUNCTION:

Responsible for supporting Advisors and Senior Advisors with advisory work. The Investment Advisor Level 2 will develop new business client relationships, provide advice and service clients. Additionally, the position will provide client reports, performance reporting, calculations, develop Investment Policy Statements and complete other Advisor workflow tasks.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in client advisory meetings. Make CRM notes and updates.
  • Prepare Investment Policy Statements for review with Primary Advisor.
  • Document asset allocation and portfolio update recommendations.
  • Create performance reporting to be reviewed with clients and any other workflow document needed by the Senior Investment Advisors for client and prospect meetings.
  • Support the Senior Investment Advisors in marketing and developing new and existing relationships.
  • Independently sell, market and develop new relationships in accordance with the investment management philosophy and methodology of 1900 Wealth Management (highly diversified, passive investment strategies through institutional mutual funds / ETFs and disciplined rebalancing)
  • Identify, cultivate and track new opportunities.
  • Maintain existing client relationships through support of the Investment Team based on the unique and evolving circumstances related to each client.
  • Coordinate client relationships related to financial assets through Jefferson Banks Trust Department and Private Banking.
  • Coordinate with clients, prospects and internal bank employees providing support to further develop relationships and schedule meetings.
  • Support alternative investment initiatives.
  • Provide excellent client service to clients.
  • Answer client investment questions.
  • Participate in marketing outreach, including public relations, communications and events.
  • Learn and support investment operations and trading functions.
  • Grow and expand investment knowledge base.
  • Operate under the provisions of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Work Experience or Knowledge

  • 5-10 years of experience as an Investment Advisor or Investment Management
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of wealth management and financial planning working with high-net-worth individuals and families
  • Alternative investment experience/knowledge preferred
  • Integrity and accountability

Education/Skills/Experience

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • Preferred degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
  • CFA or CPA preferred
  • Series 65 License required within 90 days of employment

Equipment/Machines/Software

  • Excellent computer literacy in all Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with performance reporting and investment software is a plus, i.e. Tamarac, Black Diamond, Advent, YCharts, Money GuidePro, etc.
  • Ability to work with office equipment such as multi-lined telephones, copiers, scanners, and shredders
