Job/Position DescriptionFBCE Specialist supporting Statewide Intake:Performs highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Represents Statewide Intake to internal and external stakeholders by facilitating tours, conducting presentations and answering general questions from program staff, governmental agencies, community organizations, or the general public. Creates and provides training on recognizing and reporting abuse, neglect and exploitation and coordinates other webinars and trainings offered by the Faith-Based and Community Engagement Division. Develops an intern and volunteer program for Statewide Intake and is responsible for recruiting volunteers and interns. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Job FunctionsCoordinates and delivers community education events related to recognizing and reporting abuse, neglect and exploitation, and other faith-based and community engagement topics. Education events include community presentations, panel discussions, webinars and/or conferences that can occur both in person and virtually. (30%)Represents SWI to external and internal stakeholders by facilitating tours, both in person and virtually, responds to inquiries pertaining to general SWI operations, performs outreach to external stakeholders and schedules community field trips for SWI staff. (20%)Develops intern and volunteer program for SWI. Uses community resources to recruit, train and develop volunteers for SWI. Serves as primary contact with volunteers and interns. (20%)Responsible for developing training curricula used by FBCE staff on DFPS topics and coordinating with other DFPS divisions as needed. (10%)Works closely with SWI leadership to assess further community engagement needs. Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Available for work on some weekends and evenings. (10%)Other duties as assigned (10%)Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsN/AKnowledge Skills AbilitiesKnowledge of the Texas Family Code as related to child abuse/neglect.Knowledge of normal child development and family dynamicsKnowledge of Statewide Intake.Knowledge of volunteer management.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with agency staff, volunteers and external community stakeholders.Skill in effective written and verbal communication.Skill in presenting in front of groups.Skill in computer operations to perform duties.Ability to organize workload.Ability to work with people from a variety of different backgrounds and professions.Ability to provide training and support to agency staff and community stakeholders.Ability to develop training materials.Initial Screening CriteriaBachelorand#146;s degree and at least one yearand#146;s experience as a statewide intake specialist or supervisor required.
