LeadershipServes as part of the leadership team, contributing leadership, strategic counsel, and oversight in addressing operational challenges, performance, and business direction of the School of Architecture.Works collaboratively with the Dean and school leadership to plan and develop initiatives that advance the schools strategic goals and the Deans priorities in business, personnel, facilities and technology operations, and carries these through to successful completion.Leads, develops, and retains high-performing business and administrative professionals in the areas of Business, Human Resources, Technology and Facilities.Serves as liaison with the Provosts Office, Budget Office, Financial and Administrative Services, and other administrative offices of the University.Fiscal OversightProvides strategic counsel on initiatives, resources, opportunities, and challenges while ensuring that daily operations advance the mission of the school and that resources are deployed wisely and efficiently. Executes the annual representation letter and performs the accounts certification and review of balances for the school. Acts as Chief Financial Officer and serves as the schools representative on the Council of University Business Officers (CUBO).Oversees the schools financial and business functions including accounting, reporting and forecasting, purchasing and payables, cash management, operational funding, as well as internal controls and compliance.Coordinates the preparation of the fiscal budget for the School of Architecture comprised of appropriated funds, tuition and fees, and gift and endowment funds. Coordinates the preparation of the five-year budget planning document.Ensures that stakeholders have access to financial reporting and analyses to act as knowledgeable participants in decisions, while aligning the operations of the school with the fiscal and productivity guidelines of the University. Provides regular financial analysis and other statistical reports to the Dean and other senior leaders.Reviews and approves account requests, cash advances, OOEFs, and other business-related facilities and technology operations.Human ResourcesOversees the Human Resources administration of the school and ensures compliance with HR policies and regulations.Develops and enforces consistent and equitable policies and procedures, and ensures the school continuously responds to rapidly evolving labor markets in a competitive and sustainable manner.Works with the Dean to implement human resources goals and priorities.Works with the Dean to model and oversee staff work conditions, including flexible work arrangement policies, staff development and training, and environmental enhancements.Serves as a member of HR Consortium.Manages the Schools merit and performance appraisal process.Manages financial faculty hiring commitments.Facilities OversightWorks with the Dean to design processes related to strategic positioning of the schools facilities and space programming. Oversees the schools facility operations and management including coordination and/or support of renovation projects.Provides input and guidance relating to facilities operations and space allocation.Coordinates school space management and utilization reports to address the needs of units and for submissions related to campus oversight requirementsMiscellaneous Inspires collaboration. Provides a service orientation with high standards of performance.Interprets and effectively communicates policy. Implements and leads processes to facilitate compliance.Other related functions as assigned.
