UCHealth Critical Care Evening Clinical Pharmacist in Aurora, Colorado

FTE: Full Time, 0.9, 72.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks), 7on/7 off

Shift: Evenings

Pay: $50.76 - $76.14 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy.

  • State licensure as a Pharmacist and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.

  • Preferred: Completion of a PGY2 critical care residency or PGY1 pharmacy practice residency with critical care experience are preferred.

Summary:

Coordinates and provides comprehensive medication management to optimize medication use for critical care patients.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Critical Care Pharmacy Manager, the 7 on/7 off evening critical care clinical pharmacist will require independent decision-making, clinical judgement, and in-depth knowledge of a mix of patient populations located within critical care. The critical care units included in coverage are: burn, cardiovascular intensive care unit (ICU), cardiothoracic ICU, medical ICU, neuro ICU, surgical/trauma ICU, and medical/surgical progressive care unit. The pharmacist will be part of a seven on/seven off schedule (0.9 FTE; 36 hours per week) working the evening shift and will also work alongside another critical care evening pharmacist. The 7 on/7 off evening critical care clinical pharmacist will work with physicians, nursing staff, and other pharmacists to maximize the benefits of medication therapies and minimize toxicities. The activities of this clinical pharmacist are diverse and will include, but are not limited to, medication therapy management (including therapeutic interchange, collaborative practice agreement or other strategies), and providing drug information to medical professionals, students, and patients.
