Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document patient history, vitals, progress, physical exam, and special tests, and present the patient information to the provider, when applicable.

  • Reconcile all patient medications and allergies in their electronic medical record.

  • Enter orders for patient radiographs per physician standing orders.

  • As directed by the physician, provides patient education in the following areas: Educate pre-operative patients, in the areas of surgical procedures, and signs and symptoms to monitor during the post-surgical phase.

  • Provide and instruct patients on physician-approved home exercise programs.

  • Provide potential patients with the types of services the clinic and physician can provide and direct them to the appropriate facility if unable to render the needed services.

  • Manages projects and process improvement activities related to their program(s); reports on progress, and ensures deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience in a higher education or healthcare setting.

  • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

  • Certification by The Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer

  • Licensure with the State of Colorado as an Athletic Trainer.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing projects, adhering to project timelines, and reporting on progress.

  • 1 year of experience in an orthopedic setting providing direct patient care.

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience providing administrative and technical assistance to faculty and staff within a higher education and/or medical education environment.

The Department of Orthopedics is seeking a professional who has the ability and experience to assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate patient care activities. that includes patient intake, assists with outpatient procedures, coordination of patient services, triage, casting/DME, patient education, and management of clinic flow. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for providing high-level program support to Dr. Rachel Frank and her care team. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of their program(s) and their faculty across her clinics and OR locations. This role must exercise critical judgement. This position will be responsible for the safe and effective direct delivery of patient care with specific responsibilities including, but not limited to, scrubbing daily patient schedules, coordination of patient services, patient triage and communication, perioperative patient communication, patient education, and management of clinic flow.

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule as needed for in-person meetings, but will be mostly remote.
