As a Direct Support Professional at Goodwill NNE, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries. The Direct Support Professional is expected to:
In accordance with the service plan, serves as a model and provides hands-on support and direct teaching in areas including, but not limited to, interpersonal skills, financial management skills, personal care and hygiene, activities of daily living, and access to community services and leisure opportunities.
Moderates verbal or emotional incidents through intervention techniques that preserve the dignity and safety of the service recipient(s).
Completes all required documentation in accordance with program standards.
Maintains all required certifications.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED.
Ability and willingness to work varied shifts.
Ability to travel to and work in all locations within the assigned region.
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities.
CPR and First Aid Certified.
DSP Certification.
CRMA Certification.
Fundamentals of Brain Injury Certification.
Successful completion of a background check that meets Agency standards.
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and insurance that meets Agency standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Mental health experience (when applicable).
NAPPI Certified.
ASL- at least 3 years experience required for Deaf Services or Residential Settings (when applicable).
