Pay Range: $75000 - $83000 / year

Position Summary

• The Staff Accountant works closely with the Controller to ensure compliance with accounting, procedures, requirements, and guidelines.

• Primarily responsibility for daily finance operations and project compliance along with month-end close reporting.

• Ensures that accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles, and that internal policies and controls are followed.

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Assists with the month-end close process.

• Assists with the preparation of monthly income statements, WIP reports, and various monthly closing and cost accounting reports.

• Prepares journal entries, balance sheet schedules & reconciliations.

• Oversees/prepares intercompany and intracompany invoicing, processes & transactions.

• Oversees/prepares project lien waivers & compliance documents.

• Manages project subcontractor process; pay applications, change order processing, month-end accruals, payment & compliance verification.

• Assists project teams with pay applications; reviews, enters & follows up on payment status.

• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements; prepares and\or oversees preparation of reports to government and regulatory agencies.

• Ensures integrity of financial records by maintaining a strong internal control environment in compliance with Company policies, GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley; provides feedback of any corrective action required.

• Prepares ad hoc reports and works on special projects as requested.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Accounting; Bachelor’s Degree preferred

• A minimum of 3 years finance or accounting experience; job costing preferred

• Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles

• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems; JDE a plus

• Ability to perform with a high level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity

• Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timeframes

• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with managers and staff in various locations

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills

• May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
