Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer II in Atlanta, Georgia

Azure Service Fabric, within Azure Core, is a highly decentralized runtime that abstracts and solves some of the hardest distributed systems problems, like failure detection, leader election, and replicated state machines and provides a managed experience that simplifies infrastructure management enabling critical first and third-party services, including Azure Control Plane, SQL DB, Cosmos DB to build hyper-scale, reliable, and available systems. We are looking for a Software Engineer II to help deliver the innovations that will power the next set of Azure AI and Data services. Our team supports working from home partially or fully. Responsibilities

  • Write high quality, maintainable, reusable code following SOLID principles with test automation.

  • You will collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of features.

  • You will contribute to the identification of dependencies, and the development of design documents for a product area with little oversight.

  • You will create and implement code for a product, service, or feature, reusing code as applicable.

  • You will contribute to efforts to break down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimation.

  • You will act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gains approval to restore system/product/service for simple problems.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with technical design, problem solving, and debugging skills.

  • Experience in driving scale and performance for E2E scenarios.

  • Experience in building distributed systems and driving their performance.

  • Experience in working with web services.

  • Experience in multi-threaded, asynchronous, and systems programming.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
