Job Summary:

The Shipping Supervisor will lead and support the Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Coordinators at the distribution center. They will oversee a team of four Warehouse Coordinators and be responsible for ensuring efficient operations while optimizing transportation and mitigating costs. This position is based on site (Atlanta/St. Peters)

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Warehouse Coordinators, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery and receipt of shipments.

  • Develop and execute effective scheduling and dispatching strategies for trucks and rail cars to meet customer demands.

  • Track shipments from pickup through delivery, providing accurate and up-to-date information to stakeholders.

  • Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain the best rates and service, and maintain strong working relationships.

  • Monitor and measure service levels, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

  • Process transportation requirement requests from customers, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolutions.

  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, MDI info & KPIs to track performance and identify trends and problems.

  • Actively problem-solve any issues that arise during the shipping and receiving process, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics processes, improve efficiencies, and enhance customer service.

  • Mentor and develop the Warehouse Coordinators, providing guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics or planning, preferably in a shipping and receiving role.

  • Proficiency in logistical software and tools, with the ability to utilize Microsoft Excel and/or Alteryx for data analysis.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with team members and other departments.

Salary: $70,000 - $93,000 base salary.
