Description

The Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives (GSI) and its component units (International Student and Scholar Services, the Halle Institute for Global Research, Global Safety and Security, Atlanta Global Partnerships, and Global Services) work to enhance and promote Emory’s global engagement. GSI supports creative global initiatives, cultivates cross-unit collaboration, promotes a culturally dynamic and diverse campus, and coordinates Emory's international resources and partnerships.

The Program Coordinator supports the administration and implementation of GSI initiatives and interacts as needed with members of the Emory community across campus.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists with meeting and event planning, management, and execution of office programs, such as research grants, student travel support programs, and other global initiatives

  • Assists with international partnership administration and related projects with universities, governments, and foundations in the US and abroad.

  • Assists with research to support related decision-making and with preparation of reports and issue summaries.

  • Supports development of briefing documents, agendas, and schedules, including those involving senior leadership and their travel abroad as well as those involving international delegation visits to Emory, and assists with related logistics.

  • May assist in identifying funding resources and developing fund-raising strategies and initiatives.

  • Works with team members on office communications including content creation and website updates as well as routine and project-specific office correspondence.

  • Develops promotional materials which may include content for reports, briefings, newsletters, or other written information related to programs or initiatives.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

The person in this role must demonstrate a high level of overall quality and professionalism in their work, sensitivity to the cultural considerations that international work can involve, and support of GSI’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural awareness as expressed in its Values Statement. Demonstrated interest in global affairs is required.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
