As a Marketing Intern in Emory University’s Department of Communications and Marketing for Summer 2024, you’ll become part of a select intern cohort at the forefront of advancing the university's brand evolution. Under the guidance of our executive director of marketing, your role will involve supporting our dynamic marketing team through various projects, offering fresh perspectives that align with student interests. This unique internship experience isn't just about supporting day-to-day tasks; it's about immersing yourself in a collaborative environment, actively participating in campaigns with real-world implications and seizing professional development opportunities designed to empower your career ambitions.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Gain hands-on project management experience by actively participating in and supporting key initiatives.

  • Enhance your skills in strategic communications, content creation, and editing while contributing to meaningful projects.

  • Take the lead on event logistics and scheduling, from meetings to focus groups.

  • Play a critical role in digital engagement by managing content across various platforms such as websites, online calendars, and email newsletters.

  • Contribute to Emory’s campus by helping organize memorable university events.

  • Dive into a wealth of professional development opportunities, broadening your horizons and building your network.

  • Collaborate on a campaign project from conception to execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Available for 20 hours each week during the summer 2024 semester.

  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree (B.S., B.A., M.A., or M.S.) with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and presenting.

  • Strong relationship-building and client service skills.

  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks.

  • An interest in writing, public relations, and/or public health.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • A positive and professional attitude.

  • Experience with media relations and/or social media is a plus.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
