Requirements of this role:

  • This is a PRN Licensed Practival Nurse (LPN) opportunity

  • Emory Healthcare's PRN requirement is a minimum of 24 hours per month

  • A multistate license is required for this Telehealth role

  • LPN must be available to train onsite from the Northlake location a minimum of 3 days/week during the 8-12 week training period

  • The length of the training period will be determined by the number of days you can commit to training each week.

Description

Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN, Telehealth Nursing

Shift: PRN, shift varies

Location: The Emory Clinic, 4800 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, GA 30345

We are seeking a capable Licensed Practical Nurse / LPN who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

  • Provides a variety of skilled nursing care activities for residents in a skilled care nursing facility.

  • Observes and records patient's condition and progress.

  • Assists physicians and registered nurses in the comfort, care, and treatment of patients.

  • Performs basic assessment of patient and monitors response to interventions.

  • Obtains vital signs and measurements.

  • Provides emotional and physical comfort and safety for patients.

  • Provides input into the patient care plan including discharge planning; coordinates care with professional and support staff.

  • Implements appropriate critical pathways.

  • Establishes and maintains communications with the health care team, patient, and family.

  • Teaches patient and family and reinforces as necessary.

  • Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.

  • Accesses and enters information on administration of medicines, technical and physical observations of patients in accordance with hospital guidelines.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of Georgia.

  • Currently certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

  • One year experience in long term care preferred.

  • Successful completion of an IV therapy training program, or recent clinical experience in IV therapy preferred.
