The Creative Director is a key leadership position within the Kitchen, Food, Commercial, and Outdoor & recreation segment leadership teams. This individual contributes to the development of the creative strategy for all brands within the segments across products, collateral, and communication. They are the key owner of ensuring consistent and on-brand creative across products, collateral, and communication. They will be a central point of connection between Brand Management and Design teams ensuring that the brand strategy is executed through creative elements.

The ideal person will need to be creatively savvy and strategically minded with operational know how.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns and delivers brand playbooks, which feeds strategy for both the brand and sales playbook inclusive, not only Creative, but business strategy.

  • Sits on the business segment leadership team to drive creative business strategy into all areas of the business unit and attend all leadership team meetings.

  • Collaborates with Brand Management, Consumer Insights and Research & Development to keep up to date on all research, market dynamics, customer, trends, shopper, insights to inform strategic innovation.

  • Responsible for overseeing the creative execution of the creative team and ensures quality of creative work and product meets or exceeds stakeholder requirements.

  • Responsible for application of a cohesive, creative strategy based on the business goals for synergy across all touch points, for consistent messaging.

  • Responsible for implementing Brand voice, tone, look, and feel, across products, as well as collateral and communications.

  • Problem solver, capable of driving cross functional partners to creative and effective solutions.

  • Understands new product development, and product innovation, at the manufacturing and cost level, as well as the creative process.

  • Responsible for application of creative tied to campaigns, retail, direct to consumer, wholesale, and EMEA.

  • Understands and supports application of creative elements of advertising and promotion.

  • Oversees account project management for all touch points in agencies, threads the needle across all aspects creative.

  • As needed, supervises agencies, internal and external, in product design, communication, .com design, PR, etc. to maintain consistent branding.

  • Serves as an advisor for creative in partnership with brand management team for .com, digital, influencer and PR.

  • Follows creative budgets set by the business.

  • Partners with team of creative specialists who are deployed to execute creative assets.

  • Responsible for ensuring tight connectivity and collaboration with each stakeholder to ensure aligned priorities, calendar of deliverables, and clear tradeoff choices when required.

  • Enforce operational processes, rules, and procedures across team to ensure stakeholders receive optimal service levels and top-quality outputs.

  • Guides team on project prioritization according to business stakeholders’ requirements.

  • Responsible for anticipating and training the broad Communication Design team on new creative tools, relevant technologies, and effective design methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required with 10-12 years of related creative experience. Minimum of six years’ experience managing creative projects in the context of a large team.

  • A solid project portfolio.

  • An agile design and business thinker with astute “left and right brain” flexibility

  • Experience working in/managing a creative environment.

  • Has effectively managed complex resources and projects

  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment

  • Understands concepts of utilization and resource allocation

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Passionate about design and knowledgeable about the industry, trends, and marketplace.

  • Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

  • Exceptional presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to:

  • Demonstrate passion for brand building, design and with the ability to infuse other people with that passion.

  • Drive consensus and foster creative collaboration multiple disciplines.

  • Lead and develop meetings and brainstorming sessions.

  • Work directly with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
