job summary:
A Process Engineer is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Athens, GA area. This position manages hot end operations, leads process improvements, and ensures quality and safety in a continuous manufacturing environment.

responsibilities:
Manage processes, including technical, production, and maintenance recommendations, for specific hot end operations (batch, furnace, binder, forehearth, fiberizing, forming, washwater, Insulsafe hot and cold processes).
Support and lead World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects.
Develop and improve production and processing methods to meet customer-based quality standards.
Apply process engineering fundamentals and advanced process control tools.
Ensure processes are centered, capable, and in control.
Reduce process variations and resolve special cause variations.
Collaborate daily with hourly and salaried employees on hot end operations.
Work closely with shift supervisors, maintenance technicians, and regional support specialists.
Troubleshoot and analyze data in a union environment to improve production processes.
Maintain a safety mindset and drive sustainable production improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials, Chemical, or similar).
5+ years of experience in a continuous manufacturing environment.
strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise.
Knowledge of 5S and Continuous Improvement Methodology.
strong communication skills (both written and oral) for interaction at all levels.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing.
Ability to be curious, teachable, and contribute to team success.
Willingness to share knowledge and improve team collaboration.
Available for on-call duties, including working weekends and evenings if needed.
