CURBSIDE MANAGEMENT INC Maintenance Technician in Asheville, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and in coordination with the Operations Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, servicing, and preventative maintenance of recycling processing equipment, conveyors, and rolling stock in a Materials Recovery Facility. He/she will also provide additional maintenance support to the overall functions of the business, including assisting in repairs and maintenance of fleet of diesel trucks used in the collection of recyclable materials.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintains a working knowledge of all electrical and mechanical components of conveyor line equipment, rolling stock (front loader, skid steer, forklift, etc.), hydraulic systems, etc.
  • Engine repair and maintenance
  • Works well independently and in a team
  • Ensures regular scheduled preventative maintenance is performed and recorded, communicating any related issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Responds to and problem solves to diagnose malfunctions/errors and provide workable solutions to ensure minimal interruption to plant operations.
  • Performs line maintenance and repair (belts, shafts, bearings, etc.).
  • Completes all work orders in a safe and timely manner.
  • Ensures all appropriate maintenance tools, equipment, materials, etc. are safely and properly stored at the conclusion of each job/shift completed.

PREFERRED FUNCTIONS

  • Welding and fabrication related to processing equipment/commercial truck fleet.

OTHER DUTIES

  • Other projects/duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical systems
  • Experience in welding
  • Prior experience in working with conveyor systems and medium/heavy-duty trucks preferred
