Amazon Software Engineer II, Systems Integration in Arlington, Virginia

Description

Amazon's Technology Engineering Services organization drives the execution and continuous improvement of critical automation, robotic, software and prototype processes and solutions that serve Amazon Fulfillment Network sites around the world.

Our environment is global and complex with a variety of software and systems, including industrial machines and protocols. We are constantly innovating on behalf of the customer through the development of custom hardware and software technology solutions.

We are seeking an SDE, capable of developing next-gen software platforms and automation solutions. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be reactive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open sinergystic environment.

As a Senior Engineer on the Systems Integration team, you will be part of a passionate and diverse team of engineers who develop solutions to automate the deployment and commissioning efforts for faster scalability of Robotic technologies. You will have opportunities to work with cross-functional teams on cutting-edge automation solutions for Amazon's ever-growing robotic fleet.

Key job responsibilities

-Architect and develop cloud-based solutions for integration of product with other applications using AWS tools.

-Influence the team's strategy and contribute to long-term vision and roadmap.

-Assist with definition and clarity for tasks assigned to junior members of the team.

-Support development and growth of junior members of the team.

-Maintain high standards by participating in reviews, designing for fault tolerance and operational excellence, and creating mechanisms for continuous improvement.

-Develop solutions for complex and/or ambiguous features and functionality across the full stack.

-Develop code for integration of the product into new real-world operational applications.

-Assist in the architecture and design of future solutions.

-Write code for unit and integration testing.

-Develop a customer knowledge base framework.

-Develop accurate and concise customer knowledge base content.

-Support the team through participation in hire and develop activities.

-Ability to travel up to 10%

A day in the life

The daily responsibilities of this role will be to design and develop key components of a software product, focused on the backend architecture, API development and integration with other scripts and applications,and a successful candidate will be a key contributor to the software design of this system as it evolves. Our customers are internal to Amazon, and we are delivering new products to make their lives easier.

About the team

We are a growing team focused on building solutions to support efficient deployments of Automation and Robotic solutions worldwide for Amazon Fulfillment network. Within Systems Integration team, you will work with Software Developers, Systems Developers and Integration engineers that have diverse experience in Robotics, Controls Systems, IT Infrastructure, Software programming and Web/Application developers.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Arlington, VA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
