Job Summary

This is an exempt remote position that supports the development and delivery of workforce training and upskilling services required to meet stakeholder and organizational metrics to narrow the workforce gap in Texas. The position is a statewide leadership position with responsibilities to support regional offices across the state with a statewide team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs that address the skills and knowledge gaps identified within the target market(s) across Texas.

  • Develop internal training programs to assure TMAC skills and capabilities are aligned with external stakeholder needs.

  • Develop and maintain strategic statewide partnerships to support workforce programs, initiatives and events that serve to narrow the workforce gap.

  • Develop and maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of local industry needs, workforce trends, resources and programs available at both the State and Federal level.

  • Lead, assist and support grant writing efforts.

  • Assure evaluative data is collected and reported according to key assessment metrics based on stakeholder and organizational needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Management of third-party contractor activities.

Budgetary Responsibilities:

  • Management of project specific budgets.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, organizational development, human resources, engineering, or relevant degree needed to perform job requirements.

  • Eight to ten (8-10) years’ experience in a workforce related capacity performing duties aligned with this job description.

  • Familiarity of industrial, economic development, civic, philanthropic, and educational/training leadership in Texas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with ten (10) or more years of experience.

  • Manufacturing Experience.

  • Project Management degree, certificate or demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects and teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Perform workforce development and training based on best practices.

  • Adapt industry best practices to individual project needs and circumstances.

  • Communicate regularly and effectively with a variety of constituents.

  • Maintain focus on project goals/objectives.

  • Support initiatives that involve significant changes in systems, processes, or culture.

  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in written correspondence.

  • Effectively utilize conflict resolution tactics with discretion, initiative, and independent judgment within established guidelines.

  • Research, compile, and summarizing a variety of information such as but not limited to financial, and statistical data and materials.

  • Apply logical thinking to solve problems or accomplish tasks.

  • Work independently in a remote situation with the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.

  • Identify grant or funding opportunities to support Workforce Development programs that achieve metrics aligned with stakeholder and organizational goals.

  • Lead, assist and support grant writing efforts.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Participate effectively in complex projects as part of a team.

  • Utilization of various applications: Salesforce, Power-BI, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.

  • Ability to build collaborations and partnerships.

  • Lead, manage, and report on multiple projects.

  • Lead, coach and direct a team.

  • Utilize data analytic platforms to research occupation data and labor market trends.

  • Ability to present TMAC and its programs professionally to an audience.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

• Ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 – 25 pounds.

• May require sitting for long periods of time.

• Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

• Visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information.
